by The Fall Guy ini just came across a pair of jw's on ebay who are flogging off nearly 2000 "religious" items.. is it just me, or are jw's hypocrites when they make cash by selling old light publications which now contain "wrong teachings," or much worse, by selling books etc.
which were created by members of apostate christendom and contain teachings which contradict their self-appointed "faithful slave?
is there a bible example/principle here?.

if i remember correctly--you are filipina --right ?
i have some experience with immigration rules in the UK--when dealing with applications for settlement in the UK from the Philippines.
in the case of dependent children--it is more difficult for a child to apply for settlement in the UK with its mother--if the childs father IS named on the birth certificate. British immigration take the view that the father is jointly responsible for the child--unless the mother can prove otherwise.
i know this because my wife is filipina--and her boy has been refused a settlement visa in the UK because his father is alive and on his birth certificate.
in any case--i think you would need the fathers permission if you did want him on the birth certificate.

R movies
by longday inok i know from being in the cult for many years some will watch r movies and just do it on the down low at home.
i know of some who would walk out of a room or leave if someone played an r movie when they were visiting.
my ex partner who was an elder would walk out of a room if anyone played anything that was remotely questionable.

when i was first dating my born in girlfriend ( we married about 3 years later )--my jw dad decided to take us to the cinema...there was a film he had heard about.
it was hitchcock's "psycho".
i dont know how we sat through it.
i dont know why my girlfriend didnt ditch me after that
for the rest of his life i used to tease my dad about it.

in my case--i courted a young female born-in 3rd generation dub from my mid teens. her parents were strict dubs. her father would not give us permission to marry for several years. my reason to marry--? sex. i was gagging for it. we did engage in a lot of " fooling around" but never went the whole way.
did i love her ? i thought so at the time..but that soon passed.
we got married when i was 20..she was 19.
our first child came 3 years later. 2 more after armageddon never happened in '75. by then i was long out of the cult.
after our 3rd kid--i offered to have a vasectomy--but she wouldnt hear of it. in fact--she wouldnt even discuss birth control. it never dawned on me she was looking for a way out of the marriage.
i handed that to her--gift wrapped. i started an affaire with another "sister" i had fancied for years.
so my wife filed for divorce citing my adultery--and it was all over within a few weeks. 13 years of marriage and 3 kids later.
